#158 - A rather productive weekend...

Part 2

So the short and long of it all before I spam you with images; I put the first base coat of color on (black) today. I used up 2 cans of black paint. I followed it up with one light coat of metallic silver sparkles... LOL and had to dull that out a bit. Too many sparkles. I let that sit and then did the stenciling for my initials; which is the main design. I used red paint for it and that pretty much sums up the main paint job. Now I just have to wait for the paint to cure before I put the enamel on. :) Should take about 7 days...

You'll have to wait two weeks for new pictures... I'm going to give the enamel another week to cure before I put my bindings on.

#157 - Because sometimes I never do it half way...

I finally got a snowboard to call my own thanks to my wonderful cousin, aunt, and mom that gave me the hook up. I couldn't choose the design, but that didn't stop me...

With some research I got my gear together an started my custom paint job.

Part 1

First things first, gotta clean off the dirt and grime.

After drying it down and letting the board get some sun, I began to prep it for the first coat of primer. (Hint: plug those holes with q-tips)

With all the holes plugged up I started with the first coat of primer.

By the time I got to the second can I had laid down two nice coats...

I'm going to drop one more coat and seal the primer to finish up my day. I'll post up part 2 when start I laying down the first colors.

#156 - Small joys...

Taking my students to volunteer the day at a pre-school, today. Previously I have dressed up as Max from Where the Wild Things Are. But this year I wanted to do something different.

So I'm reading The Very Hungery Caterpillar, but no caterpillar suit. :)

I love it when I get to read to little kids. All I hope is to make it just as exciting as I remember. Not to mention it gives me an excuse to re-read my childhood favorites. :)
