#87

Finally started moving stuff into the shed, looking at all the stuff I have to move makes me feel better. Now I know I’m not the only one with a lot of “stuff” in the family. Oh and I realized that my MA is in Secondary Ed. and not a MA in Teaching. Doh!

Testing out a new (to me anyway) multi-vitamin. The label suggests 4 tablets a day, but I’m going to half the amount. If all goes well for a couple weeks to a month without any side effects I’m going to start on protein. Been keeping my cousin company with my bike while she conditions for her cross country team, she’s been bugging me to join her on her short training days – I told her give me a month to get some meat on. Oh! Finally installed a water bottle holder on my bike and looking for some fenders or mud flaps. I might just be part of the few that bike to work where I live and the country roads tend to get muddy some. I’ve got headwind heading toward work no matter the time of day, it’s pretty killer. Still the fact that for 20 minutes a day (10 min to work and 10 min back) I don’t think about anything. Nothing at all, other than me, my bike, and way; that’s it – and it’s be best freaking feeling in the world! Mind you school hasn’t started yet but I’ve been doing trail runs and errands around the town. My bike was the best decision I’ve made so far (turned down a moped for it earlier). The 10 minute commute isn’t all that bad either, since in Seattle it took me 10 just to walk to my bus stop.

And here’s a story for you; so a roach flew into the living room where I was chilling and on to my laptop screen which I had propped up on my knees . If you are from Hawaii you know the significance of that roach. I’m kinda proud of myself that I didn't freak out and instead just calmly put the laptop down and stepped away. The little bugger then hoped off and scurried its way behind the TV. I resettled myself and watched as it flew up from behind the TV and got smacked by the spinning over head fan. It landed on the chair I was leaning up against still alive. There was no way I could comfortably relax in my living room with the roach around so I calmly picked up a composition book and waited for it to give me a clear shot. I managed to hit it good knocking it to the floor, total bug face plant with a twitch. To my utter amazement it began to try and walk! Look around I used a piece of scrap paper to pick it up. Feeling it squirm in my fist I squeezed harder, later smiling in satisfaction at the sound of a exoskeleton crunch. Triumphant I make my way to the kitchen to throw it away, I was shocked to see as the scrap of paper drop and the roach wiggle its way out and skittered around the can trying to get out.
Since my return home I’ve been crashing on my parents’ living room floor till I can finish my renovations. You can imagine that I was not looking forward to sleeping on the floor that night.
