#145 - Japanese Hospitality...

Is so great! I had a great experience doing a Japanese home stay. I met a really great woman who does home stay`s for western foreigners and she was so unbelievably nice. She took me around Fukuyama and even set up a tea ceremony for me, complete with dressing me up in a furisobe; which is a super formal kimono. Yes I took pictures, no I didn`t wear make-up.

It was such a great experience that I was practically in tears as I left. I loved staying with her, and hope to come back again to be able to stay with her again.

But I had to leave the Kansai region in favor of Tokyo, in order to explore Kamakura. My first full day I spent hanging out with my cousin Andre and his `house-wife` Tracy. Total inside joke there. But we totally kicked it in Shibuya and traveled around the near by stations. Tomorrow they invited me along to check out a bath house. I`m staying at a place called Ryokan Kangetsu, which is the most pricey of the places I`m staying at. But its so worth it! It has an outside traditional bath and I get my own room for once. Its a nice treat for me after staying in hostels for the last three weeks. Though I miss the people I`ve met.

Been following your blog to read about all your Japan adventures. Seems like such an incredible trip. Isn't a furisode the kind of kimono you wear to identify yourself as a single women "ready for marriage?" lol. Thank you anime for teaching me that. I think we all need to see that picture btw. ;) Hope your trip continues to be an adventurous one. You have no idea how jealous and inspired I am.

YOu know I wouldn't be suprised if my homestay okasan totally had that in mind. Pictures will go up as soon as I get back. Unfortunately I can use my data plan on my phone, which in my opinion has the best pictures besides my canon.
