how I love you... Not only have you made me enjoy lettuce just on its own, but I find myself chomping away on Japanese cucumber as a snack now. The whole idea of gaining weight on this trip is a total no go... I'm eathing way too healthy and its all voluntary.
Anyway I'm back in Kyoto *huge sigh of relief*. The Gion festivites start tomorrow at least in my opinion they do. The parade isn't till the 17th but there are a bunch of traditional events going on tomorrow that I'm going to be checking out. Since I've done much of all the touristy things here in Kyoto my first time here, I find myself wandering a bit more with very little direction. Plus I have to wait till pay day before I can do my more adventurous trips. I got a day trip to Nara, I'm debating on another day trip to Hiroshima, then theres the hike to a real onsen in north Kyoto...
OH! And I scored tickets to the Ghibli Museum... for when I'm back in Tokyo Area.
But tonight I'm going back to Arashiyama and watch people fish with Comorants... Here that uncle tony, they don't use fishing poles... they use frickin BIRDs to catch fish. I'll make sure to take pictures. :)
Edit: Later that night.... So the fishing was canceled due to the heavy rain in the area. Had some mean thunder/lighting storms while I was waiting for the bus to arrive. The thunder was striking at 3 miles at the closets. "Sugoi!" I heard someone say. Yeah it was pretty damn awesome. But regardless that the fishing got canceled I got some great shots of the river which had mist rolling over it in the twilight. :)

Got to love the rain. Ever since my last trip there, I never complain about rain in Seattle because it just doesn't compare.
If you're going to Nara, there's always Nara Kouen. Just be careful around the deer, especially if you buy food for them.
